Keyword Search:
By entering keyword(s), you may use one or more keywords to define a search using the words: and, or, not as separators.
To narrow a search - Use: and, not.
Egg and Breakfast - will eliminate eggs in all other contexts.
Cheese not Cheddar - will give you all cheeses except cheddar.
To expand a search - Use:
or
Italy or England - will provide images from both countries.
Cuisine - is used for food dishes associated with Countries or Cultures.
Examples - British Cuisine, Japanese Cuisine, Tex Mex Cuisine
France is the Country /
French are the People /
French Cuisine is the Food
Example - When looking for all things French, the search would then be:
France or French or French Cuisine
To narrow down larger search results, you may find these helpful:
Silhouette - is the keyword used to identify things that can be outlined.
Still Life - is used for things in settings
Crop - will help distinguish fruits, vegetables & grains pre-kitchen.
Examples - Tomato and Silhouette; Tomato and Crop; Tomato and Still Life
People - are divided by age group.
Example - When looking for photos of Male People: Boy, Teenage Boy, Young Man, Middle Aged Man, Senior Man
Using Filters in a Keyword Search:
Within Results - When checked, this will and the new keyword with the previous keyword search.
Filter by Color - This will show items that are Color or Black and White (B&W).
Filter by Orientation - This will show items that are Horizontal or Vertical.
Filter by Photographer - This will show items provided by the photographer selected. If no keyword is entered, all items from the photographer will be shown.
Item # Search:
You may entering one or more item #s to do a search. To search for multiple item #s, separate them with commas.
Previews:
If you are registered, double clicking on a thumbnail image in the Results pages will give you a larger preview size image.
